We are seeking an ambitious and driven senior manager to join our country programme in Burkina Faso as Country Director.
Launched in August 2009 and since then has been making a huge impact on the people there. We have been making significant progress in changing behaviour and increasing family planning uptake, providing services to over 19,000 women in 2010.Providing reliable information and reaching the underserved, namely those who can neither afford nor access services, in one of the world’s poorest countries is at the core of our mission. In its first year, we reached more than 80,000 people through information, education and communication activities. In addition, over 1,200 group discussions and 1,300 individual discussions were facilitated, alongside 175 mass public campaigns.
In joining our innovative and growing programme, day-to-day you will oversee the business strategy (programmatic, financial and administrative) and work closely with governments, donors and other key stakeholders to overcome barriers that prevent women and men for accessing safe and affordable and reliable family planning and other sexual health services. You will also lead, inspire and manage a dynamic and driven team.
In order to be successful in the role, you will come from a similar senior management background with extensive international work experience gained in a developing country as well as proven experience in designing and delivering strategic and annual business plans. Having previously worked with governments and donor stakeholders, you will be a confident negotiator and culturally aware. For this position, it is essential that the successful candidate is fluent in French.
