DESCRIPTION


The Victim Center is a grassroots nonprofit agency that provides free-of-charge services to men, women, and children victims of violent or sexual crimes. Services include prevention education, counseling, advocacy, and 24-hour crisis intervention. The agency does not provide shelter. Applicants are encouraged to visit our website at thevictimcenter.org.

This is a professional leadership position that will report-to and work in conjunction with the Executive Director. This position will be partially responsible for operational functions, fund-raising, grant writing, public speaking, networking, and other duties related to perpetuating the mission of The Victim Center.
DUTIES

Duties will include assisting the Executive Director with operational functions; writing government and private grants; coordinating at least three annual fundraisers in conjunction with committee volunteers; networking and soliciting funds for the organization from individuals, businesses, and foundations; speaking to community groups or other organizations about the agency's mission and work in the community; developing newsletters and other written publications; managing social media; building relationships within the community; and various other tasks related to perpetuating The Victim Center's mission.
QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have at least a four-year degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education/experience necessary to perform the essential job functions. Experience in a related field is necessary, along with knowledge of the Springfield/southwest Missouri area and an ability to effectively network and fund raise. Desired applicants will have demonstrated leadership skills and will be excellent oral and written communicators. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and have basic computer skills.
