DESCRIPTION


The Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF) is seeking highly motivated and passionate graduating seniors and recent college graduates (1-3 years out of college) to organize at colleges and universities out of our East Coast office as National Campus Organizers for the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southern, and Mid Western regions for FMF's Choices Campus Leadership Program.
National Campus Organizers play an essential role at the Feminist Majority Foundation. Campus organizers are responsible for launching and maintaining pro-choice, feminist activist groups called Feminist Majority Leadership Alliances (FMLAs) and affiliated feminist groups who identify themselves with other names; implementing Choices Campus campaigns; and conducting leadership and issue-based training for student activists.
This position requires at least 10 weeks of travel for work per academic year and regular communication with students and faculty on campuses with chartered and affiliated groups. All eligible applicants must have a current and valid driver's license, which is necessary for traveling, proficiency in social media, excellent public speaking skills and enjoy networking and communicating with other people whether by telephone, text, email or while attending conferences and workshops.
East Coast Campus Organizers will have the opportunity to:
  • Gain first-hand experience with a national grassroots feminist organization
  • Lead and shape national, pro-choice, civil rights and feminist campus campaigns
  • Serve as a lead grassroots organizer
  • Train the next generation of feminist leaders
  • Collaborate with other social justice organizations in Washington, DC and nationwide on key issues facing women
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates will have prior leadership experience working on social justice issues, which includes but not limited to being involved in a feminist group, environmental group, racial justice group, LGBT group, or participating on student government. In addition, great applicants will be able to demonstrate that they are self-starters, have endurance to work on long grassroots campaigns, adjust their schedules and/or time commitments to a project with short notice, and work in a fast-paced environment.
