SUMMARY
This is a part-time position (20-24 hours/week). Reporting to the Vice President, Philanthropy, the Grantwriter is responsible for facilitating research and review, as well as developing and writing grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and corporations. They will work on all aspects of institutional fundraising including: identifying and researching prospective funders, writing letters of inquiry, cover letters, concept papers, grant proposals, interim and final reports, and ensuring that accurate information is entered into tracking systems including filing.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: One-two years experience with writing proposals and reports to government agencies, foundations, and corporations. Preferred candidates will have experience with the NYC legislative and budgetary processes.
Skills: Strong writing, editing, and research skills are essential. Demonstrates a professional, energetic, and hard-working attitude. Ability to handle multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines and fast-paced environment. Can identify and speak to funder interests. Capacity to both plan work in advance and respond to timely new opportunities that may arise. Experience with Raiser's Edge is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches new government grant and foundation prospects. Researches, drafts, edits, tracks, proposals as per their guidelines and deadlines. Performs other duties as assigned.
